Left Behind

Dimensions: 8” x 12”

Medium: Acrylic Paint on Acrylic Sheetss

For my AP Art Drawing Portfolio, I investigated the topic of the journey of a mid-20th century European Immigrant coming to America. I looked at different points of an immigrant’s life as well as the symbolism behind making the treacherous journey. Left Behind is about a girl who leaves her family from her origin country to immigrate. To represent this, I painted on two different layers of clear acrylic sheets. The family is on the sheet behind the girl.
