Seasonally, Jacmel is continually tasked with designing new, trendy packaging for all of their brands. The challenge is thinking outside the box while also staying true to the brands’ aesthetic. In this particular I looked at all previous Jessica Simpson boxes we had already produced and in stores. I then created a moodboard of ideas and visuals that work within the typical brand guidelines. From there I chose to go in a “‘western direction”. I thought of this idea of a bandana design. While working on this I faced some trial and error. I wanted to design something cool but had to also make a design that wouldn’t overcrowd a 4” x 4”. After much discussion with my team as well as the merchandise team, to make sure the design works with the brand, this is the final product to be sold in stores this Spring.
